This week was quite a week! We were very busy and kept up with our MAP schedule very well. This schedule will continue next week - block is in the AM am 9:45. Lunch remains at the same time - 11:15.
Next week we have Early Dismissal on Wednesday. School will be dismissed at 1:40 PM. If you have a dismissal change (I.e. They usually rides the bus, but will be be picked up instead) please be sure to send a note with them.
Friday is our Zoo Field Trip! I will be sending detailed notes about the field trip next week. If you have volunteered to chaperon the Field Trip, the school requires you to fill out a background check. Please be sure to fill one out if you plan on coming. You can get them from Mrs. Musante, our secretary in the main office. Or I can send one home with your child if you email me and let me know.
Here is a look back at what we did this week:
In reading we have been discussing how to "retell" a story. Next week we will start writing summaries of what we read! In science, we continued our study of Earth's Surfaces by looking at volcanoes. In math, we began our unit on measuring. We measured in nonstandard units, inches, feet, and yards.
I really enjoyed watching the kids perform their circus! It has been neat to see them so excited about it. They should be so proud of the hard work they put into their excellent performance!
Have a great weekend, and please feel free to call or email with any questions or concerns!
Ms. Frederich
Enjoy some photos of our week!
This is our Synonym Garden!
Each paint card has a word on the bottom. As the colors get darker, the words get more descriptive. We used a thesaurus to find new words!
Sharing our poetry and fiction stories with the class microphone.
